How much does the WristRipper cost?
The WristRipper sells for $29.95 w/o weight and $39.95 with 5lbs of weight.
The
5lbs consists of one-2.5lb regular plate and two-1.25lb regular plates.
What if 5lbs is too much weight for me? The WristRipper was created
for people of all strength levels in mind. The 5lbs available with the
WristRipper consists of two-1.25lb weights and one-2.5lb weight. This allows
people of different strength levels to incrementally vary the amount of weight
used. With this option, the user can do the exercises with their choice of
1.25lbs, 2.5lbs, 3.75lbs, or 5lbs. If you have never used a product like this
and are unsure about how much weight to use, start out with a 1.25lb plate and
work your way up to a weight you are comfortable with.
What if I already have my own weights? Many people already have their
own weights, which is why we also offer the product for sale without weights for
$29.95. The specially designed WristRipper weight pin is compatible with both
regular (small hole) and Olympic (large hole) weight plates.
Why do you sell the WristRipper with only 5lbs? Although 5lbs doesn't sound like very much, it doesn't take much weight to get a very effective workout with this exercise. 5lbs is plenty of weight for most people a good starting point if you have never used this type of exercise before.
We recommend that you do not use the WristRipper with more than 10lbs.
Can I buy more weights from you if I need more? No, we don't sell or
ship individual weights. If you are looking to purchase more weights to be used
with the product, you can get them at virtually any sporting goods or fitness
equipment store.
Is it easy the adjust/change the amount of weight? Yes, the weight pin
and the snap hook attachment make it very easy to add or subtract weight from
the product. This is a nice feature if you like to vary the amount of weight you
use or if more than one person uses the product. Just unhook the snap hook and
slide the desired amount of weight on or off.
What is the max weight the product can hold? The WristRipper is a very strong product and can hold a good deal of weight. However,
based on the advice of therapists and exercise physiologists we don't recommend performing
exercises with the WristRipper using more than 10lbs of weight. Some people are
very strong and would like to use more weight, but be very careful and do so at your own risk.
If the exercises are performed as illustrated in the instruction sheet, i.e.,
arms straight out in front of you, 10lbs is plenty of weight for almost anybody.
What is the age limit of a person using the WristRipper?
We get this question a lot from parents with young athletes and it is really a better question to ask your child's doctor. If the product is used correctly and the child is carefully monitored and uses little or no weight, it shouldn't be a problem for children ages 10+. However, since the individual development and the concerns of each child may be different, it is best to ask the opinion of your child's doctor before having him or her begin any exercise program including training with the WristRipper.
How many reps should I do? That depends on what your goals are.
Typically low reps (1-2) with a heavier weight will build size and strength.
High reps (3+) with a lighter weight will build strength, definition, and
endurance. We consider going up and down to be one rep. If you can't go up and
down twice, then you are probably using too much weight.
How often should I use the product to get best results?
We recommend using the product 3-4 times per week for best results. Like any other exercise program, you must give your muscles a chance to rebuild and recover properly. We recommend taking 1-2 days off in between WristRipper workouts to allow you hand, wrist, forearm, and shoulder muscles to recover and to avoid overuse injuries.
Why do you say to do the exercises in a full range of motion?
Doing the exercise in a full range of motion increases the effectiveness of the exercise and will stretch and strengthen the muscles more effectively.
Is it important to hold my arms out at shoulder level when doing the exercise?
You do not need to hold your arms at shoulder level to effectively use the product. We recommend you hold your arms out at shoulder level during the Ripper Roll exercise, because it also helps isometrically strengthen the biceps, triceps, and shoulder muscles.
What is the purpose of the Ripper Twist exercise?
The Ripper Twist Exercise is designed to improve abduction and adductions movements.
Abduction is the cocking of the wrist in direction of radius side of the
forearm. Adduction is the uncocking action in direction of the ulna side
of the forearm. These muscles along these sides of of the forearm are very
important to hand and wrist movements required to perform many sports
effectively. Most other forearm training products only work the flexors and extensors, but the WristRipper works the complete group of forearm muscles.
Can the WristRipper be used for physical therapy, rehabilitation, and sports medicine?
Yes. Wrist roller devices like the WristRipper can used not only to improve physical strength and performance, but also to help prevent and reduce the chance of injury to the lower arm and also as a sports medicine, physical therapy, and rehabilitation tool to help aid in recovery of certain lower arm and shoulder injuries. It can also be effective in treating arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome. What if I feel pain in my arms when doing the exercise?
If you are feeling a burning sensation in your muscles, that is good because it means your muscles are fatigued and you are getting a good workout. If you are feeling any sharp pain in your hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, or shoulder areas or joints when doing the exercise reduce the amount of weight. If that doesn't help, stop using the product until the pain subsides. Do not use if you have a pre-existing injury or are experiencing any pain or inflammation in your hands, wrists, forearms, elbows, shoulders, or neck areas without first consulting your doctor.
After using the WristRipper my arm muscles felt sore the next day, is this good?
Yes, that is a sign that your muscles got a good workout. The first couple of times you use the WristRipper you may feel soreness in the forearm and shoulder muscles. We recommend you wait till the soreness subsides before training with the product again. This will give you're your muscles a chance to recover and rebuild.
